Balance at 57. A Quiet Reminder That It’s Never Too Late.

In this photo I am 57 years old. I’m not special, but I know a few secrets. Consequently, I know vitality doesn’t need to fade with age. It can be maintained for decades via pranayama, storing your sexual energy, meditation and consistent daily practice.

What This Fingertip Balance Teaches All of Us

On uneven ground, balance isn’t forced. Instead, it’s found through presence and awareness. Absolute focus of the awareness is where your true hidden strengths lie.

Additionally, today I feel more capable and grounded than I did in my younger years because I consistently return each day to my practice. Yoga, Tai Chi, breathwork — these have been my faithful companions for many decades.

Your Next Breath Is the Beginning

You don’t need to balance on your fingertips today, as your journey can start right where you are. Try a simple wrist stretch or gentle plank on your knees.

Ideally, acknowledge you don’t really have that consistency yet. You haven’t optimized your health. That’s okay. Find and learn from an expert near you. Be humble enough to learn from the best, trust your instincts, and keep practicing daily.

The Vitality You Seek Is Already Within You

This is my way of saying that whatever your age, whatever your starting point, the practices work when you meet them with consistency. You are capable of more than you know. In fact, the vitality you seek is already within you, waiting to be released.

Therefore, take a moment right now. Feel the support beneath you. Lengthen your spine. Breathe deeply. Notice the quiet strength already alive inside. Find your awareness and hone it like a scalpel.

If you’re ready to take this deeper and transform your life, come play with me. We meet Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings for Sunrise Yoga on the beach in East Boca from 6:45 to 7:30 AM at the South Beach Park Pavilion. If you would like to join, sign up via Eventbrite or Meetup.

Breathe. Drop in. ❤️
